Summary:
The
Paralegal, Enterprise Integrity & Compliance will be responsible for managing and overseeing matters reported through the Integrity Line (ethics hotline) and other reporting channels to Compliance & Ethics. This includes documenting incident intake, conducting initial reviews, coordinating investigations, and ensuring timely resolution. The role requires working closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, labor & employment, legal, investigations, and management, to ensure allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated, legal and compliance requirements are met, and necessary remedial actions are taken.
Conduct compliance-related research, identify emerging risks, and support compliance-related projects and process improvements assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer or Compliance management team.
Responsibilities:
- Incident Intake and Review: Monitor the Integrity Line and other reporting channels, document newly reported incidents, and perform initial reviews.
- Case Follow-Up and Coordination: Communicate with internal teams (e.g., HR, investigations, legal) to gather information and track progress on investigations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Update case management software with investigation findings, outcomes, and remediation steps; prepare regular reports/metrics for leadership.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research related to compliance and ethics; analyze trends or risks emerging from reported incidents.
- Guidance and Advising: Provide compliance and ethics guidance to business partners on policy questions and emerging concerns.
- Project Work: Support special projects as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer or Compliance management team, such as policy reviews or process improvements.
Must-Have:
- 3-4 years minimum in compliance, ethics, or regulatory roles, ideally in a corporate environment.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Compliance Hotline Experience: Previous experience managing compliance or ethics hotlines (Convercent preferred). A paralegal certificate is not required; one can be an analyst.
- Case Management: Experience in incident intake, investigation coordination, and reporting in a compliance setting.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working with HR, legal, and management teams on sensitive matters.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to track, review, and accurately document incidents and investigations.
Preferred:
- Legal or Paralegal Training: Formal paralegal certification or legal background, ideally within corporate compliance or ethics.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the telecom industry is beneficial, but broader corporate compliance experience is acceptable.
- Compliance/Regulatory Experience: Previous work in compliance functions such as internal investigations, risk assessments, or policy development.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex cases, identify trends, and propose solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with multiple stakeholders professionally.
