Epson, a global technology leader, is seeking an exceptional Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for managing relationships with different business managers, regarding budget, forecast preparation, financial and KPI reporting of assigned areas, internal controls assessment, and monthly marketing spend analysis. This position will be based out of our Los Alamitos, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Principal Accountabilities.
In addition to the following, Epson's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Budgeting and Forecasting.

  • Contributes to preparing and summarizing the yearly consolidated sales and expense budget and subsequent quarterly updates to be submitted to Seiko Epson Corporation following compliance guidelines.
  • Assists in preparing and processing the consolidated pro forma financial statements (US, Canada, Latin America).
  • Analyze financial risks and opportunities for U.S. Senior Management, including active collaboration, partnership, and support to assigned functional business stakeholders.
  • Operates within budgetary constraints, develops annual and quarterly forecasts; participates in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
  • Supports rolling forecast processes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure that system-generated reports and downloads for assigned areas are complete, accurate, and valuable for analysis and journal entry preparation; provide recommendations for reporting enhancements.
  • Improving the BP and FC process (identify and execute multi-layered reviews from multiple perspectives).
  • Flux analysis (results vs. latest Plan, Forecast, or other designated benchmark)-pre-submission during the review process and post-submission to the Parent company, including timely coordination to obtain required schedules.
  • Maintains the financial integrity of focused areas and the ongoing development and refinement of reports and dashboards used in management decision-making (SAP queries, Power BI reports, and SharePoint sites).
  • Required reporting, schedule submissions to Seiko Epson Corporation, and support to other members as assigned.

Financial Business Analytics

  • Provides value-added financial business analytics by using proprietary and syndicated market data to achieve corporate objectives, including project framework, data collection, analysis, and effective communication of key findings.
  • Developing financial reports on the different business units, including periodic reporting and analysis, month-end close processing, and variance analysis.
  • Transfer Pricing analysis will determine product pricing policies between the parent company and its subsidiaries.
  • Manages, leads, and personally prepares business reports and presentations for the local and Parent company executive teams.
  • Proactively anticipates future information needs to enhance Senior Management's decision-making.
  • On an as-needed basis, leads and/or participates as a thought leader or strong contributor in various AD-HOC strategy project assignments

Internal Controls and Business Analysis

  • Analyze the adequacy of internal controls for financial reporting.
  • Make recommendations to improve internal controls and assist in implementation.
  • Improve the month-end close and expense allocation process and reinforce the SEC reporting process
  • Review and maintain allocation drivers and cost center details.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other organizational tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience, with 3-5 years of focus in Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • A bachelor's degree (accounting, finance, or business with a finance focus) is required.
  • Strong research and analysis skills, attention to detail is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.). Macro or VBA experience is desired.
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Power BI dashboards, and SAP Analysis for Office is preferred.

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $100,233 and $131,556. Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
