The Chief Engineer leads on-site engineering, overseeing team and infrastructure systems supporting manufacturing. This role combines technical expertise with management skills to maintain operations, drive improvement, and ensure efficient, safe management of all building systems including fire safety, mechanical, electrical, environmental controls, and light construction

Chief Engineer

• Represent JLL as the site lead and primary point of contact for the site.
• Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear), cabling (data and voice, broadband), lighting and temperature control systems, critical environments, light construction (painting, doors, relites, locks), digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access, radionics, CCTV), and Audio/Visual services.
• Utilize staff and engage outside vendors as necessary.
• Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, and personnel development.
• Identify maintenance objectives of the facility and incorporate them into a documented plan including preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
• Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate remediation to ensure staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage safety training programs.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure operations and inform management of building noncompliance.
• Assist in developing a Capital Plan including infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and building modifications to support future capabilities.
• Ensure major projects are properly planned, executed, and closed out in accordance with standard industry practices.
• Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation, including up-to-date building drawings and single-line diagrams, as well as documentation for regulatory compliance with Federal, State, or Local law.
• Oversee activities of contractors working within the building, whether representing the building or tenants.
• Keep records of building rounds and readings, all engineering logs, and engineering data sheets.
• Provide advance training and notification to contractors regarding building's critical functions and work to be performed, including incident contact response lists.
• Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
• Ensure work authorization is well-understood among building staff, engineers, tenants, and contractors working on critical infrastructure.
• Confirm strict adherence to Life Saving Actions, Loss Prevention System, Work Authorization, Technical Bulletins, and established engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures.
• Implement annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Individual Performance Measurement Plans for engineering staff.
• Administer the JLL Client Assurance Program (JCAP) with the facility manager and team.
