Sr. Product Care Engineer, Quality Improvement

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering and 3 years of experience providing quality and validation support to R&D for home appliance manufacturing processes and products.
  • Must have experience developing quality improvement projects that reduce cost, SCR (Service call rate) and Cstar levels for home appliances products utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Applying Design of Experiments (DOE) to physical part testing and updated design reviews in Catia V.5. Diagnosing and developing solutions to root cause product quality issues utilizing Eight Disciplines (8D), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Ishikawa Diagram methodologies.
  • Creating and managing quality international and domestic project schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) and Gantt Charts.

Job Duties:

  • Design and plan protocols for processes to produce home appliance products meeting internal and external purity, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Provide quality and validation support to R&D of for home appliance manufacturing processes and products.
  • Study product characteristics or customer requirements to determine validation objectives and standards.
  • Recommend resolution of identified deviations from established product or process standards.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review validation and compliance documentation, such as engineering change notices, schematics, or protocols.
  • Create, populate, and maintain ECR/ECN and Quality Evaluation System (QES) databases for tracking validation activities, test results, or validated systems.
  • Recommend resolutions of identified deviations and root cause product quality issues applying a Eight Disciplines (8D), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Ishikawa Diagram methodologies. Identify and develop quality improvement projects that reduce cost, SCR (Service call rate) and Cstar levels for home appliances products utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Analyze Service Call Rate (SCR), Consumer Star Rate (Cstar), and validation test data to determine whether processes and products have met validation criteria.
  • Resolve testing problems by modifying testing methods or revising test objectives and standards.
  • Design validation study features, such as sampling, testing, or analytical methodologies. Support purchasing activities and global leverage initiatives.
  • Apply Design of Experiments (DOE) to physical part testing and updated design reviews in Catia V.5.
  • Draw samples of raw materials, intermediate products, or finished products for validation testing, supplier approval, and product development initiatives.
  • Assist in the establishment of development requirements for product changes and help execute them to meet objectives.
  • Create and manage quality international and domestic project schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) and Gantt Charts.
  • Coordinate and maintain a historical log of projects completed and in process.
