Instrument & Electrical Test Procedure Writer.

Location: Port Neches, TX


Responsibilities

Strong background in safety instrumented systems design, installation, troubling shooting, commissioning, test procedures.

Ability to read and understand complex construction, specifications, details, isometric, shop and vendor drawings as well as Piping and Instrument Diagrams.

Good Understanding of instrument and electrical work practices as they relate to the chemical manufacturing industry.

Good understanding of the authority of codes having jurisdiction. Such as National Electrical Code.

Knowledge of critical construction quality requirements for electrical installations.


Qualifications

TRICONEX Experience a must.

Strong instrumentation background within industrial facilities including procedure familiarity, SIS experience, and general instrument testing methods.

Experience with PLC/DCS configuration aiding in test procedure generation.

Familiarity with chemical plant distributive control system (DCS) so that test procedures created are concise and meet site/industry standards. Ability to interface with process control engineers in regards with testing complex control loops.

Generate I&E testing procedures for instrumented IPLs from information provided in logic narratives, ladder logic, function blocks, cause, and effect diagrams, P&lDs and I&E drawings.

Check test procedures for accuracy when provided in bulk from engineering support on large projects.

Update test procedures as required for management of change (MOC) projects to maintain operating units.

Good knowledge of how instrumented IPLs are applied to process hazard scenarios.

Awareness of importance of instrumented systems used in independent protection layers (lPLs).

Understand SIS and instrument and electrical design (I&E) documents to use in creating or modifying test procedures. Participates in the Process Safety Engineering Team to effectively manage the Facility's SIS safety life cycle phases regarding functional testing.


Education Requirements

AAS. Electrical/Instrumentation/Computer application background a plus!
