Overview

The Technology COO organization at Salesforce is dedicated to driving operational excellence and innovation across our technology teams. We support a broad range of functions including Content Experience, Learning & Enablement, Agile teams and more. Our mission is to empower the Technology organization with the programs, enablement, data, tools, and insights they need to succeed.

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) in the Accelerated Engineering team, you will be an integral part of a software engineering team focused on delivering tools and services to advance the productivity of the TechCOO organization. This role will leverage the latest technologies on the Salesforce platform, including Agentforce, Data Cloud and Heroku, to develop AI-driven solutions that meet the needs of Salesforce's growing Technology organization.

As a team that practices in mob programming and test-driven development, you will have a unique opportunity to build trusted relationships with other engineers and product owners on the team and collectively develop solutions that are elegant, performant and of the highest quality. You must possess good oral and written documentation skills and be able to interact with other team members to deliver reliable, quality code and solutions. You will also be asked to contribute ideas and provide feedback on many projects within the team's product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Build applications on the Salesforce platform with a mind for scalable, repeatable best practices and a focus on product quality.

  • Participate in product and feature design with product owners and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with team members daily as part of mob programming practices.

  • Brainstorm and prototype new concepts and approaches fast, turning prototypes into real, working code.

  • Take impactful technical features from idea to implementation as part of a high performing, distributed team.

  • Act as a technical lead for one or more projects, leading the design and implementation of an end-to-end product with support from the team.

  • Build strong relationships across the technology team that may be leveraged to produce better products and solutions.

  • Contribute to strong engineering practices including design and code reviews, building high quality code, unit testing (TDD), and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience programming with Apex (classes, triggers, and web services), and other OOP languages (Java, etc).

  • Expert knowledge of Object Oriented programming, knowledge of design patterns/ trigger framework.

  • Extensive experience in Salesforce APIs, Lightning Web Components and SOQL on the Salesforce platform.

  • Salesforce Admin and/or Platform Developer 1 certification is preferred.

  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices on the Salesforce platform.

  • Experience working in Extreme Programming work environments with Test Driven Development and Mob Programming is preferred.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a keen ability to partner with global teams.

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology, experience as a Scrum Lead for a small engineering team is preferred.

  • Previous experience building solutions with Data Cloud, Tableau, Heroku and other Salesforce technologies is preferred

  • A related technical degree required

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $157,600 to $216,700. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,000 to $236,500. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
