*Job Description:*
Seeking Home Equity Underwriters to join the Lending Team. These positions involve full-cycle home equity underwriting. *Responsibilities:* * Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to make sound loan decisions within established time frames. * Apply consistent decisions across all products without bias or discrimination, adhering to federal and state regulations and investor policies. * Document files/systems thoroughly to ensure clarity for members and team members regarding approval, denial, or counteroffer reasons. * Analyze loan documentation, personal and business financial statements, and other financial information to support loan decisions. * Research and explain loan calculations within all systems, assist others as a subject matter expert on home equity products, and maintain general knowledge of all loan products. * Apply in-depth knowledge of custom and credit scoring models, knowing when to override the models. * Maintain awareness of current market forces and conditions affecting loan underwriting, such as real estate secondary markets, local and national economy, competitor rates and products, membership product/service needs, and housing market trends. * Identify and suggest process or efficiency improvements related to area of responsibility. * Maintain confidentiality and security of applicant information and data at all times. *Skills & Qualifications* * At least 2+ years of full-cycle mortgage or home equity underwriting experience. * Home equity, FHA, VA, or conventional mortgage experience. * High member contact, with a strong customer service focus. Must be willing to communicate with members throughout the process. *Work Environment: * * Monday through Friday, flexible hours (8am to 5pm, 8:30am to 5:30pm, or 9am to 6pm) * The work environment includes a newly renovated building with cubicles on the 2nd floor, accommodating 20-30 people at all times. * The dress code is business casual (no leggings, sandals, or jeans). * No cell phone usage is allowed due to handling financial information. The building features a nice cafeteria and break room, and an actual branch on the first floor for convenient banking. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
