The Construction Engineering Services group at DEA is actively seeking a qualified Assistant Construction Project Manager in Portland, OR, with a range of experience and skills for its transportation construction project management needs in the Oregon Region. The appropriately qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate an established career in construction management along with, but not limited to the following responsibilities: * Support and day-to-day management of DEA staff on construction projects, acting under the direction of regional management staff, owner's staff or independently * Monitor construction management activities and compliance with project requirements, including contract plans and specifications, agency and jurisdictional requirements, and best trade practices * Interact and support project client representatives and stakeholders * Communicate, prepare written letters, and maintain correspondence with client representatives and construction contractors * Negotiate and prepare construction contract change orders and construction cost estimates * Review and coordination of quality and quantity documentation for transportation construction projects * Participate in the proposal writing and review process with regional marketing staff * Develop schedules, scope of services and fee estimates for projects that are won and approved by the client Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred * Registered Professional Engineer in Oregon preferred * Minimum 5 years of professional public or consulting experience managing work on various transportation and infrastructure construction projects * Construction inspection and field support experience on ODOT and/or local agency (cities, counties) projects * ODOT construction experience preferred Benefits:
