Essential Job Duties |
The North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies (
NCICS) in Asheville, NC is currently seeking several student interns to work with Institute scientists on multiple projects. The intern(s) will support various project-related tasks assigned by Institute scientists who will provide appropriate guidance. Activities may include, but are not limited to: data search and acquisition, data formatting, statistical analysis, mathematical model formulation, data calibration, assessment, communication, and applications.
The intern(s) will be expected to utilize their education and background to:
-Complete a variety of scientific tasks under guidance from Institute scientists;
-Apply mathematical and statistical concepts to environmental information;
-Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently;
-Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills as needed;
-Effectively communicate challenges, approaches, and resolutions to all levels of the organization as requested or needed;
-Maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with institute, university, and state policies. NCICS employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina. |
