Your role in our success will be...

This position manages daily procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract review, vendor negotiations, and process control, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services in line with company policies. The role involves collaboration across the enterprise, supporting supply chain technology implementation, and developing efficient procurement processes, procedures, and internal controls. It also oversees compliance with procurement policies and strategies to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency.

What you'll be working on...



  • Drives organizational change for supply chain.
  • Develop policies, procedures, controls and implement a technology platform to support the end-to-end supply chain process, including streamlining purchasing workflows and utilizing automation to enhance process efficiency.
  • Oversees the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to ensure that all RFPs are completed timely and accurately, and in accordance with the Company policies and procedures.
  • Fully understands, cultivates relationships and has a deep knowledge of the "local" landscape of the supply market for goods and services in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends and cost drivers.
  • Develops, implements, and sustains procurement processes, plans and strategies that are directly supportive of procurement business objectives, professional/ethical business practices, and corporate/regulatory policies. This includes driving consistency across the organization for procurement of goods and services while establishing and implementing best practices and strong governance.
  • Identifies opportunities to aggregate and leverage global Company spending with a focus on improving bottom line performance.
  • Establishes cost beneficial relationships with suppliers and maintain preferred supplier relationships with reduced pricing for all departments to leverage.
  • Negotiates contracts to optimize pricing, quality and service levels.
  • Identifies and assesses risks and benefits of sourcing decisions and clearly presents proposals to mitigate risks collaboratively, ensuring sustained product supply-quality-compliance (including FERC and DOT requirements).
  • Takes a lead role to assist with the administrative process throughout the preparation of all documentation until the award of the contract.
  • Drives automation and process improvements for the procurement value chain.
  • Establishes and maintains trusted relationships with business partners identifying mutually beneficial opportunities to increase engagement and improve service delivery.
  • Conducts data analysis and modeling with a focus on cost reduction initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manages supply chain responsibilities using tools like SAP and foster increased utilization of technology to increase the Company's supply chain capabilities.
  • Collaborates and fosters increased engagement among the inventory management, logistics, IT and procurement/supply chain functions.
  • Participates in budget input discussions in key supply chain areas. Play an engaged role in driving to budgetary outcomes and striving to impact the bottom line in a positive way.
  • Develops and monitors relevant KPIs and supply chain performance.



Who you are...



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or similar related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the utility/gas/energy industries
  • Driver's License, Class C
  • Preferred supply chain licenses and certifications such as:

    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) - Institute of Supply Management (ISM)
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)-Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM)
    • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)-American Purchasing Society
    • SAP ERP Procurement Certification-SAP Certification Program
    • Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP)-Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
    • Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green/Black Belt


  • Expert knowledge of SAP Software and SAP implementations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.) as well as SQL analysis tools and mathematical/data analysis skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in commercial terms and requirements of purchase contracts
