The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the PRI Director, the Preparedness Network Senior Manager is expected to work proactively to develop a network/partnership approach with key leaders in each Borough to create a preparedness coalition that enhances existing effort and focus on the needs of underserved neighborhoods. They will manage associated work plans and projects across PRI's whole of society sectors. This person will facilitate and support PRI programming and convening, will support the PRI Borough outreach throughout the five boroughs and will coordinate partnership efforts via PRI's Advisory Council and Governing Board, and manage a suite of multi-sectoral partner relationships and programs across the whole of New York City society, including government, industry, community, cultural and others.

Responsibilities



  • With partners, design and execute a Preparedness Network in each of the five Boroughs, beginning with the Borough of Queens. 50%

  • This will involve:





      • Managing programs and convenings working with PRI teams and multi-sectoral partners
      • Interfacing with city and community leaders to avoid duplication and enhance work already being done/led by local residents.
      • Address any issues with partners, and elevate issues as appropriate
      • Ensure accurate, detailed, current information about projects is available to New Yorkers
      • Regularly assess status of new partnerships and opportunities to expand current programs and partnerships
      • Provide programmatic leadership for the creation of a virtual hub network around NYC, working with PRI Communications and Digital leads.




  • Create agendas and manage relationships with the members of PRI's Governing Board, including city agencies and borough leaders, and PRI's Advisory Council, including 30 leaders from various sectors around New York City. 20%
  • With ICAP communications team, manage partner information on PRI website, including web page updates, uploading and updating of opportunities, and regularly monitoring website content to improve offerings and opportunities for our partners, including managing a web-/app-driven calendar and map of related public health preparedness programming citywide to provide situational awareness to all partners. 15%
  • In coordination with development staff, identify and pursue opportunities to grow program offerings, including opportunities to work with existing partners in new ways, and continue to develop special initiatives, while looking for various types of funding for these initiatives. 10%
  • Perform other duties, such as supporting PRI in the implementation of special events, e.g. Covid-19 review convenings, developing volunteer and student practicum opportunities to support PRI work, and support special projects and initiatives as needed 5%


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent of education, training and experience
  • 5 years of minimum experience
  • Excellent communication, writing, and quantitative skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with donors, implementing partners, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team
  • Fluent in English


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's Degree or higher in public health, public administration, or management and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience, preferably in the areas of project development, partner engagement and management, community organizing or public health programming
  • Experience working with New York City Government or other governmental entities preferred
  • Fluent in English and at least one other language that is widely utilized in NYC preferred, e.g. Mandarin, Spanish
