Anesthesiology Clinical Instructor Housestaff-2

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Clinical Instructor House Staff (CIHS) in the DentalAnesthesiology Training Program.

This Clinical Instructor House Staff position is a full-time position intended to provide an expandedknowledge base in dental anesthesiology and provide clinical care experience as part of the dentalschool graduate program. Dental Anesthesiology provides excellent, comprehensive treatment andoffers anesthesia care at the postdoctoral level including hospital-based anesthesia, as well astreatment of medically compromised and special needs patients. The Dental Anesthesiology programhas 4 to 6 resident doctors who serve a 3-year appointment. Residents appointed to the ClinicalInstructor House Staff position in the Dental Anesthesiology resident training program provide care to
patients under the supervision of an attending faculty member in accordance to the guidelines of thedepartment, The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) GME office, and CODA.

Required: D.D.S. or D.M.D.; graduation from an accredited dental school and eligible for post-graduateapproved training; required to be eligible to obtain a training certificate, required to be AmericanHeart Association certified in ACLS training. Must obtain an Ohio Dental License or Limited ResidentsLicense with the Ohio State Dental Board. Must be accepted into residency program through matchprocess.

PhysicalRequirements
A CIHS needs to be able to: use of both hands, dexterity in the fingers and the ability to manipulateinstruments, materials, dental hand pieces, and operate dental equipment. The use of feet isnecessary to manipulate the rheostat for hand pieces or other dental equipment. The body must beable to work from a dental stool in order to perform most dental procedures. The ability to sit and
stand for a duration of time is also necessary. Other specific requirements include color spectrumdifferentiation; manual dexterity/motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, physicalcommunications; visual acuity and communication/language development. Individuals in this positionmay be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards (skin irritants), vibrating equipment, useof sharp instruments and latex.
