Director of Community and Employment Services

SUMMARY

The Director of DDS Community and Employment Services is responsible for daily operations and service delivery for DDS-funded day programs. They ensures high-quality care for individuals served, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and alignment with agency standards and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead daily operations and service coordination across all DDS-funded programs.
• Develop and implement new service options and vocational alternatives.
• Maintain partnerships with community agencies, funding sources, and institutions.
• Supervise and train Coordinators and Managers; ensure proper staffing per contract.
• Review and verify WebResDay and VSA Waiver attendance; ensure timely and accurate submission.
• Oversee performance evaluations, staff hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure programs meet DDS, QSR, ICF, and CARF standards.
• Conduct regular site visits and physical walkthroughs for quality and upkeep.
• Submit Utilization Review packets; assist with documentation and billing accuracy.
• Manage budgets, approve supply requisitions, and monitor financial performance.
• Lead development of policies, quality systems, and staff training (minimum 4 hours/month).
• Support referral and admission processes; contribute to goal setting and program growth.
• Maintain communication with the Business Office on budgets and contracts.
• Ensure all staff receive required training and support Program Managers with consultant engagement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field. Five years of experience working in a community based day program for persons with developmental disabilities/behavioral health issues and other challenges. Progressive experience in program development and supervisory experience in day services. High school diploma/GED and six or more years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

SALARY

• $50,000/yr. Rate increases to $55,575/yr after 6 month introductory period.
