Position: Systems Administrator II

Location: Hybrid reporting to Newark, DE office location 2-3 days a week

Your role in our success:

The System Administrator will manage and enhance on-premises and cloud server infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and alignment with industry best practices. As a subject matter expert on platforms like Windows server, Linux, VMware, Microsoft Entra, Exchange, Proofpoint, Citrix, and other commonly used infrastructure technologies. This role involves overseeing key projects, such as infrastructure upgrades and virtualization optimization, business application projects, while ensuring CIS compliance, heightened security, efficient patch management, and vulnerability management. Additionally, this role will be charged with managing SOC compliance, responding to identified cybersecurity risks, and implementing effective security protocols and responses to address potential risks. The role will require collaboration with other teams, mentor colleagues, and implement secure, innovative solutions to drive reliable system performance.

What you'll be working on:



  • Manages Windows Server systems: Installs, configures, and maintains Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Manages VMware virtualization: Manages environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Other virtual technologies such as Nutanix and Windows Hyper-V may be required.
  • Oversees security & compliance. Works with IT security, Internal Audit and IT compliance to ensure systems are patched and compliant, including vulnerability management and access controls.
  • Monitors performance and system optimization: Uses monitoring tools and reporting tools to proactively detect and resolve issues. Available for on-call monitoring and response.
  • Troubleshoots & provides support for Level 2/3 support for system-related issues, working closely with IT teams to address incidents and fulfill service requests. Collaborate with external technology partners and subject matter experts as needed to ensure efficient issue resolution.
  • Provides extensive Azure system management, skilled in optimizing and improving cloud efficiency. Will lead and support the migrating on-premises systems to the cloud.
  • Supports hardware and related challenges. Must be familiar with Hyperconverged server infrastructure (HCI) and non HCI platforms.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of system design, inventory, and architecture to ensure all critical infrastructure components are tracked and accounted for accurately.
  • Provides Linux system administration support.
  • Executes, monitors, and ensures proper backups are completed to protect all systems and related data.
  • Provide support for platforms such as SCCM, Intune, and other desktop and endpoint management.


Who are you:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS), or a related field is preferred; however, other degrees may also be considered. 4-year degree required
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in:
    - Migrating to and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure
    - Vendor relations and support management
    - CIS Level 1 experience supporting server infrastructure
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in:
    * Leading the support of platforms such as in Microsoft Server, Virtualization platforms, Microsoft Exchange, Citrix, Proofpoint, Active Directory (On-Prem and Entra), DNS, DCHP, and group policy at a SME level.
    * Monitoring Performance and system Optimization: Use monitoring tools and reporting tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
    * Working with IT security, Internal Audit and IT compliance to ensure systems are patched and compliant, including vulnerability management and access controls
    * Design and architecture of systems and solutions with the emphasis on shifting to cloud-based solutions.
  • Microsoft certifications or relevant cloud certifications a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in overall data center and infrastructure technology and systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and documentation skills.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication, and interpretation of unclear instructions or information
  • Public speaking with the ability to tactfully deliver accurate and understandable counsel in response to inquiries or complaints.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally or in writing.
  • Ability to analyze data, exercise good judgment, prepare reports, and maintain supporting records.

  • Ability to stylistically adapt communication (oral and written) based in the audience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse work environment, multi-task, strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to seek efficiencies in all areas to create overall process improvement.
