Staff Associate I

The Staff Associate I in the Korem Lab within the Department of Systems Biology will analyze exciting multi-omic datasets (mechanics, imaging, EHR, microbiome, metabolomics, immune profiles). This is a position for a computational biologist with excellent written and verbal communications, computer programming, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and data visualization. The analyst is expected to perform the aforementioned tasks under the guidance of the PI, provide preliminary analyses for funding applications, and provide assistance to the lab members.

Functional Knowledge

30% - Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably biology and/or microbiome

related.

Problem Solving

25% - Use analytic skills to solve issues in data analysis, moderate to complex problems that will drive

research aims

Decision Making/Autonomy

15% Will work collaboratively and independently on research projects under the guidance of the Pl.

Technical Expertise

25% Proven proficiency and experience in Python and/or CC++. 2 years of experience in data analyses.

Communication

5% Will share information and data with colleagues and supervisors. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.



  • Bachelor's degree in specific research field.
  • Proven proficiency and experience in Python and/or CC++. 2 years of experience in data analysis.
  • 4 years experience preferred.
