Job Description:

Provides day-to-day leadership and direction for diagnostic services, in more than one Modality, that may include CT (computerized tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), general radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Sonography or Mammography depending on location of department. Also provides staff orientation, education and continuous quality improvement serving as site lead for accreditation and regulatory compliance. Works with Medial Director, supervisor and staff, following department policies, to develop and maintain a safe operation, providing timely and quality services to patients. Provides high quality images in role of Imaging Technologist.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
    • Identifies patient with two identifiers.
    • Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
    • Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
    • Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
  • Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
    • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
    • Maintains work knowledge and competence.
    • Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
    • Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
  • Provides accurate clerical function
    • Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
    • Understands the EMI/PACS storage and retrieval system.
    • Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
  • Provides work flow for Imaging department
    • Communicates with staff and other areas for patient readiness.
    • Provides feedback to staff regarding areas of improvement.
    • Gives assistance, information and ideas to support the work of the team.
  • Works with Imaging leadership
    • Coordinates with the radiologist to accurately maintain protocols for the scanners.
    • Participates in equipment selection.
    • Procures and monitors materials inventory.
    • Coordinates new employee orientation.
    • Reports problems, issues or ideas to support the work of the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • 2 to 5 years in radiology and other modalities

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required registered upon hire
  • Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required advance registry, Computerized Tomography (CT)
    Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Mammography or Diagnostic Sonography. Must be registered in one Modality upon hire
  • Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred registry eligible in other modalities as required by the location of the department upon hire
  • Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required registered in second required modality within 180 Days
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire

Pay Range

Pay Range: $39.19 to $53.72 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
