Description
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5000. The Home for Little Wanderer's seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our small, therapeutic school, The COVE School in Plymouth, MA. The school is a year-round private special education school for youth aged 10 to 18.
- Services The Home provides include: individual, family, and group therapy, psycho-pharmacological evaluation, psycho-diagnostic evaluation, educational evaluation, sexual abuse victim/abuser evaluation and treatment.
- The LPN will follow an individualized health services plan using a collaborative, wellness focused approach.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the plan.
- Provide ongoing Quality Assurance by monitoring the medication administration system to ensure compliance according to DESE licensing requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of the administration of medications, including the direct administration and the preparation of leave of absence medications.
- Assure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct annual health screening procedures and ensure that all immunizations are current.
- Coordinate the delivery of health care with ancillary staff, family members, guardians, psychiatrists, primary and specialty health care providers, and other professionals within the Home and with external organizations.
- Complete reports and documentation needed for client records, the Home and collateral and regulatory agencies.
- Provide and coordinate health education for clients and families and training for staff; assure that all medication and medical supplies are ordered, received and checked for accuracy, and monitor supply budget.
Qualifications
- Current MA LPN license
- Some pediatric and/or psychiatric experience preferred
- Ability to assess and monitor children for illness and injury
