  • You'll also have opportunities for global outreach through partnerships in Baja and Honduras - this isn't part of the core job, but it opens doors to international collaboration.

You'll work alongside passionate educators and scientists, engage with PreK-12 students and community members, and help shape the next generation of ocean stewards. Together, we build inclusive learning spaces where all voices are welcomed and celebrated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging, culturally responsive educational programs for PreK-12 students both onsite and in the field
  • Adapt curriculum and tools based on audience needs and current research
  • Collaborate on designing and evaluating short- and long-term educational initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor interns, volunteers, and program assistants
  • Coordinate logistics for educational events and maintain accurate participant data
  • Represent the Aquarium at community and professional events

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, natural science, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years facilitating programs with PK-12 audiences
  • Experience creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with technology-based education tools (Google Suite, iPads, web-based platforms)

Preferred Skills:

  • Teaching credential or formal education certification
  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Experience with integrated STEAM instruction and educator training
  • Knowledge of Monterey Bay's natural history and marine ecosystems
  • Ability to support students in water-based activities (snorkeling, tide pooling, etc.)

Salary: $52,000 - $74,000 depending on alignment of experience and internal equity
