Join our team at Terex and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Sales Director to contribute to the Terex Utilities team in Watertown, SD.

As a Sales Director for the Terex Utilities team, you will work remote but work directly to support the team in Watertown, SD. This position will be a significant contributor to our overall business strategy and will play a significant role in providing the voice of the customer to the organization. The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing both long term and short-term strategies required in order to achieve revenue, profit, and market share goals. This position also provides leadership, direction and skills enhancement training for the regional Sales leaders and their teams.

The Sales Director will act as a senior representative of the company and must be knowledgeable on the company, our industry, our products and how to foster lasting relationships with our customers.The individual must be comfortable and proficient at public speaking and have excellent communication skills.

What you'll do

  • Provide leadership to the sales team and manage, support, and develop them to enable them to excel in their roles.
  • Develop robust sales strategies that drive profitable revenue and result in leading market share.
  • Continuously assess current market conditions, analyzing both rental and distribution channels to determine the most beneficial partnerships for the Utilities business.
  • Develop sales tools that will help drive sales, improve market share, and balance resources.
  • Ensure annual planning and budgeting process is delivered on time and matched to delivery of strategic objectives and forecasting.
  • Drive business improvement through deep and detailed analysis of financial information to deliver financial results aligned with the budget.
  • Partner effectively with the Finance, S&OP, Operations, Aftermarket, Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Develop global growth opportunities, customers, and team members in international business or environment.
  • Implement pricing policies and ensure the adherence of controlled and transparent pricing practices.
  • Support the S&OP process through timely submission of accurate sales forecasts, pipeline data and order data.
  • Assist with the coordination of pricing administration & annual program agreements.
  • Uphold good business practices in accordance with Terex values, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in selling new equipment, services, and parts and a thorough understanding of the processes involved.
  • Proven ability to establish credibility & strong partnerships across the internal organization and with external customers.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to offer informed perspective on the market and strategies to facilitate growth.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Utilities customer base, their buying habits, their business models, and how to leverage the Terex value proposition.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and develop others.
  • Clear understanding of how his/her individual and organizational performance impacts business unit success.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 10+ years' sales management experience at a senior level.
  • Experience in heavy construction services or manufacturing services or a closely related industry is required.

Additional skills that stand out

  • MBA is preferred.
  • Strong background in business transactions, sales negotiations, and customer relationships.
  • Additional technical leadership experience beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

The compensation range for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 annually, with additional variable compensation. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
