Koch Methanol, LLC is looking to hire an entry-level Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join the St. James, Louisiana team. This role will serve as an integral part of our team, the E&I Engineer ensures the seamless operation, maintenance, and design of all electrical and instrumentation systems. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of industry standards. The E&I Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. As a critical link between technical and maintenance staff, the E&I Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement in our processes.

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and efficiently
  • Manage projects and be the site's E&I subject matter expert through project progression
  • Manage Smart Plant Instrumentation Intools database
  • Develop/Review electrical and instrument PM tasks and establish frequencies for execution
  • Develop corporate dashboards with electrical and instrument KPIs
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on electrical equipment and instrumentation
  • Responsible for ensuring site is leveraging the most effective, economical, and reliable technologies to meet business and customer needs
  • Continue pursuing technology and best practices to increase site asset's reliability
  • Drive change utilizing the Management of Change process
  • Close gaps in the electrical and instrument Mechanical Integrity programs identified by audits

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge with Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering concepts and equipment AND a minimum of one of the following:
-Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
-1+ years of relevant industry or military experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of power distribution as it relates to industrial applications
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards and NFPA codes
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of PSM/Mechanical Integrity programs
  • Experience with reliability programs and asset strategies
