About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs We are looking for anIndustrial Mechanicto join the Rio Tinto Maintenance Department and provide construction, installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities for the optimum operating efficiency of the Boron Plant. Reporting to theMaintenance Supervisorand working within a diverse team, you will be:
- Working in an industrial environment in a team setting
- Follow all required Rio Tinto Safety rules, lock-out/tag-out and isolation procedures
- Diagnose and repair all types of rotating and conveying equipment including pumps, elevators, screw conveyors, conveyors, belting, material handling and centrifuges.
- Give and receive crane signals, calculate loads and rig correctly
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Use of power and hand equipment, performing varied types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment, i.e. harness, lanyard, SRL's, man-lifts and scissor lifts
- Perform all other tasks, duties and assignments that may be required as part of duties listed above
What you'll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Journeyman level Millwright experience
- Must be able to past 6g pipe test
- Mechanical aptitude and be skilled at repairing equipment
- Rigging equipment experience such as wire rope, chockers, synthetic slings, cable clamps, hooks, shackles and other rigging apparatus.
- Experience with welding equipment, pipe machines, band saws, drill presses, hand tools, forklifts, scissor lifts
- HS Diploma or GED
- Valid State Driver's License
