OVERVIEW:

McKim & Creed has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team at our office in Raleigh, N.C. The Senior Project Engineer will lead design plans and technical specification production as well as permit preparation/submittals for water and wastewater projects (i.e. water and wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection/pumping).

DURING YOUR WORKDAY, YOU WILL:



  • Lead design plans and technical specification production, permit preparation/submittals for water and wastewater projects (i.e. water and wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection/pumping).
  • Responsibilities include leading preliminary and final engineering evaluations, utility master plans and other various reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals for engineering projects.
  • Be responsible for managing and mentoring staff on multiple, concurrent projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • NC Professional Engineer License, or ability to quickly acquire NC PE quickly through reciprocity.
  • 7-10 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater design.
  • Technically competent, a team player and good communications required.
  • Participate in a Professional Engineering Society.
  • Must provide design management to maintain the health of the project and client satisfaction throughout the life of a project.
  • Must be able to lead a project team, execute self-directed activities, and provide mentoring to staff.
  • Must be able to conduct project team meetings.


WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:



  • Master's degree in related field but not required.
  • Focused experience and completion of municipal engineering water and wastewater design through construction projects.
  • Technical committee leadership is a plus.
