Description
Position Summary The Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for psychiatric evaluations, prescription, and management of psychotropic medication, monitoring, and interpreting results of laboratory diagnostic tests, monitoring the side effects and interactions of medication, and providing education and direction to patients for medication self-administration. The psychiatrist also provides consultation to support and educate primary care providers as well as a large team of clinic therapists. The population served includes Maryland and Washington DC Medicaid/Medicare population as well as the Latino immigrant population. Candidates who are bilingual in English & Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. Reportability This position will report directly to the Vice President of Behavioral Health. Language Requirements - Ability to communicate effectively in English is required. Additional language proficiency or fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Physical Demands - Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work Environment - Mostly in a typical office and/or home setting with a quiet to moderate noise level. May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and humidity due to outside weather conditions.
