Job Summary This position includes regular interactions with system and facility executives, requiring executive presence and the ability to lead by influence. The manager is responsible for managing Contract Specialists and Contract Analysts within assigned department categories, including hospital equipment, supplies, and vendor management programs. This individual will help coordinate efforts with other departments in the organization to facilitate the strategic sourcing process and remove any obstacles that may exist in the sourcing and vendor management processes. This manager is responsible for developing and executing a long-term strategic plan for their department categories, setting specific goals to be achieved, and supporting other teams to achieve positive operational and financial results. The manager develops, implements and/or refines the system standard processes and tools to ensure consistency across the organization in partnership with key stakeholders and provides ongoing training on such. Ensures the delivery of consistent and accurate management reporting to accelerate decision making. This position is responsible for savings goals as defined by the Director, Strategic Sourcing.
Essential Functions

Negotiate key contracts in addition to taking advantage of national group purchasing agreements. Identify new categories and initiatives that represent gaps in contracting as well as work towards departmental savings targets. If applicable, be versed in the strategies and dynamics of purchased services. Provide guidance and direction to Contract Specialists and Contract Analysts on performance management, priority items and overall sourcing plan. Manage contract calendar and ensure Contract Specialists maintain contract compliance to all local and GPO contract requirements, including rebate compliance. Build strategic relationships with vendors. Ensure vendor accountability through a rigorous vendor management process. Ensure all vendors and suppliers meet service benchmarks and perform ongoing evaluation of vendors and suppliers. Manage key end-user relationships within their service lines. Support project management efforts in ensuring alignment with suppliers and end-users. Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of contracting activities. Provide periodic reports, analyses and plans related to contracting issues and metrics ranging for short-term to long-term considerations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement principles and best practices Knowledge of healthcare supply chain management principles and concepts in procurement, contracting, distribution, vendor program management, and equipment management. Experience in analyzing, devising negotiating strategies, direct negotiation and familiarity with legal contractual terms and conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, vendors and regulatory officials Basic computer skills Knowledge of office equipment Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database) Data entry Mathematical skills
