Description

The Software and Infrastructure Engineer position has 3 levels within the job family with progressive responsibilities. This posting is open to all levels and the candidate will be hired into the level that best matches their current experience.

Duties and Responsibilities Level I:

  1. Manages technology by monitoring and maintaining production technologies in the network, security, server, telecommunications and application domains; ensures that all managed technologies meet our service level expectations; issues such as capacity needs must be anticipated and proactively addressed.
  2. Delivers new technology by designing and implementing new technologies which meet company service level and information security requirements; technology should perform as expected and be implemented without significant issues.
  3. Builds new systems and performs updates.
  4. Monitors current systems using testing software and other tools; maintain existing systems by performing maintenance and updating systems; implements upgrades and new systems.
  5. Manages service providers and vendors effectively; sets expectations; develops performance metrics; measures vendor performance, provides feedback and holds accountable.
  6. Able to work independently taking regular guidance and direction from senior staff.
  7. Performs troubleshooting and assists Help Desk with issue resolution.

Technical Expertise Level I:

  1. Experience in broad/generalist IT functions [network, hardware, application, server] is required.
  2. Experience in Microsoft server administration is required.
  3. Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  4. Experience in Fiserv and Financial Resellers is preferred.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Shell or batch file scripting language software, OS Server 2003-2012, TCI/IP and general networking, MS debugging tools, MS Exchange, Unix/Linux is preferred.
  6. Years of experience: 4+ years is required.

Education and Experience Level I:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
  2. Certification: ITIL, MS, CISSP, or other security certification is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities Level II:

On top of the duties listed in level I, level II duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Maintains technology roadmaps by creating a multi-year roadmap for each technology to a sufficient level of detail to drive budget planning and execution.
  2. Creates request-for-proposal questionnaires and drives product selection for critical bank technologies; demonstrates an understanding of our business model and ensures appropriate technologies are selected.
  3. Performs new IT architecture engineering; builds new systems and performs updates.

Technical Expertise Level II:

On top of the duties listed in level I, level II technical expertise include:

  1. Years of experience: 10+ years is required.

Education and Experience Level II and III:

On top of the duties listed in level I, level II and III education and experience include:

  1. Education: Master's degree is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities Level III:

On top of the duties listed in level I and II, level III duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Builds and/or contributes to technology roadmaps by creating a multi-year roadmap for each technology to a sufficient level of detail to drive budget planning and execution.
  2. Leads request-for-proposal process and drives product selection for critical bank technologies; demonstrates an understanding of our business model and ensures appropriate technologies are selected.
  3. Leads various IT initiative and projects.
  4. Mentors junior staff and contributes to their professional development.

Technical Expertise Level III:

On top of the duties listed in level I, level II technical expertise include:

  1. Experience with systems architecture and integration is required.
  2. Years of experience: 13+ years is required.

All Levels:

- Performs other duties as required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

- This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.30a through 5.15p. Able to work frequent overtime including weekends and evenings. Able to respond to cell phone and emergences situations. Able to provide transportation to branch, affiliate and CoLo locations.
