This position is based in the following office location:

The opportunity

Oversees an area of responsibility for the Custodial Service department; ensures a consistently high level of environmental hygiene and aesthetics to students, visitors, and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervises the necessary resources needed for the Custodial Services department under their control
  • Working with management, supervising day-to-day activities of staff that directly report to them including direction of work, performance evaluations, timecard approvals, and recommendations to hiring/promoting within the Custodial Service team
  • Prepares master work and time schedules, under the direction of the Manager, coordinating vacation and holiday time and reviewing daily adjustments in the work schedule for their team
  • Performs space disinfection using electrostatic sprayers.
  • Performs quality improvement initiatives under the direction of the manager.
  • Conducts rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned.
  • Prepares necessary reporting to manager and document results.
  • Collaborate with the manager to develop improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements, proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishings, interior finishes for all areas of responsibility.
  • Provides oversight of inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.

Other Responsibilities.

  • Adheres to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control and prevention standards. Promotes a culture of student safety through observation and education.
  • Coaches team members on the chain of infections and the core principles of the transmission of infectious pathogens.
  • Responds to emergency calls and multiple priorities as needed to coordinate staffing changes and minimize disruption.
  • Actively participates and contributes to efforts to improve student experience and cleanliness scores and key departmental performance metrics.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Custodial Services Professional certification preferred.

Experience

  • Required- 3 Years in housekeeping services and/or related support departments. Completion of Peak Leadership Program within one year of hire.
  • Preferred-2 Year in supervisory level experience managing staff.

Special Skills/ Equipment

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with typical housekeeping equipment/machinery.
  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $16.94 - $27.11. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $18.72 - $25.32.
