Position Summary:
The Director, National Accounts (DNA) is directly responsible for market development, implementation of the coverage and reimbursement strategy and tactics that will maximize patient access and optimize profitability for Travere products. This includes optimizing and ensuring appropriate coverage and access for all Travere products with key national/regional commercial and government payers. The National Account Director serves as the lead contact for payer related account management, clinical and business activities and will cover the West region of the US.

Responsibilities:

* Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with commercial and government payers (with a particular focus on the West region) to support timely formulary and medical management within designated target accounts to ensure patient access to Travere products.
* Navigate complex payer accounts and drive product advocacy with all key stakeholders and decision makers within assigned accounts, including the executive level, to create and communicate the value of Travere's therapies
* Is responsible for contract negotiation (where applicable), per corporate guidelines, to attain patient access and reimbursement for Travere products, while being mindful of contractual revenue deductions and net sales optimization
* Executes the company's strategic objectives for obtaining formulary positioning, positive coverage policy, profitable contracts, optimal access and reimbursement for Travere products with local/regional/national health plans, hospital systems, group purchasing organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and government accounts nationwide.
* Devises plans to overcome customer resistance to price, contracting or barriers to product access.
* Utilizes or assists in the creation of appropriate Market Access marketing materials for company's products. This individual will demonstrate specific competencies through influence selling, utilizing clinical knowledge and value propositions, health economic and real-world evidence, marketing resources, executive level relationship building and leveraging and negotiating contracts
* Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, trade, medical affairs, and HEOR to execute payer engagement strategy and pull through of a products access or managed care contract.
* Adhere to and effectively communicate contract strategy, contract compliance, development, claims analysis, execution and ongoing tracking, management of contracts for government and commercial payers, insurers including ROI assessments and scenario planning to various levels of the organization.
* Develops and implements a system to educate sales organization on regional and national payer access and coverage.
* Support strategic plans with defined tactics and objectives to move payer decisions in a direction that continues to open access for the appropriate patients. Deliver payer insights back to the Market Access team and Commercial leadership, as appropriate, to help drive strategic planning activities.

Education/Experience Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
* A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
* A minimum of 7+ years of excellence in complex Payer Account Management, Managed Care, and/or Government Account or demonstrated equivalent leadership experience within Travere.

Additional Skills/Experience:

* The ideal candidate will embody Travere's core values: Courage, Community Spirit, Patient Focus and Teamwork.
* Strong professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably small molecule pharmaceuticals.
* Negotiation skills, large account management, project management, and specific disease state/market knowledge required.
* Requires the ability to lead effective large and small group presentations.
* Specific Managed Markets experience including a thorough understanding of managed market accounts and government accounts and a demonstrated ability to lead multiple plan level pull-through initiatives will be critical.
* Prior experience with planning, presenting financial models, and changing plan formularies experience required.
* Experience with specialty pharmacy models, rare disease, and nephrology.
* Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment. Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
* Ability to travel 25-50% domestic and possibly internationally.
* All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:

$181,000.00 - $235,000.00
