HDR is seeking a Senior CEI Project Engineer to join our Transportation Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) program in Central Florida (Orlando) to direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs, plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members, develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures, and review programs for conformance with department standards. Primary Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the overall management and successful delivery of multi-million dollar projects
- Acting as the primary liaison with contractor(s) on behalf of the client/owner, as part of a CEI team representing the owner
- Leading a project team consisting of project controllers and inspectors responsible for contract administration and construction materials testing
- Managing day-to-day activities such as progress meetings, submittal and RFI reviews, contractor pay applications, quality assurance testing and inspection, schedule reviews, and progress reporting
- Coordinating with designers to resolve technical/engineering issues
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- Quality Control experience
- MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline (may be substituted for one year of engineering experience)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
- 10 years related experience in various aspects of construction including estimating, bidding, preparing purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and field engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software
- Experience developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
