In the role of Staff Tax Accountant, we'll count on you to:



  • Assist in the preparation and filing of direct and indirect U.S and international tax returns. including:

    • Corporate income taxes
    • Sales and use taxes
    • Value added taxes
    • Withholding taxes
    • Property taxes
    • Business licenses
    • Other tax filings


  • Review vendor invoices to ensure accurate tax is charged and properly coded.
  • Analyze software contracts to determine if applicable use tax is due.
  • Assist with responses to tax audits including gathering supporting documentation.
  • Proactively research and analyze tax rules and implications associated with HDR's U.S. activities.
  • Perform month end close activities including preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries related to the HDR's tax obligations.
  • Coordinate with various corporate functions, including Treasury, Finance, Accounting, and Legal on tax matters.
  • Collaborate with the international tax department and external tax firms to gather and organize necessary data for tax compliance reporting.
  • Assist in special projects related to HDR's U.S. and international tax profile.
  • Candidate Profile:
  • The successful candidate should be a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple priorities within the company. Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. Effective communication skills and an appreciation for diverse perspectives are key attributes for success in this role.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be part of successful team.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work independently, handle interruptions, and shift priorities, as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS applications


Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
  • Prior experience with corporate taxation or accounting
  • Familiarity with tax laws and tax administration
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with ERP systems, e.g., Oracle
  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
