Under close supervision and within established departmental and hospital policies and procedures is responsible for performing a variety of general technical, research clerical or professional duties to support research activities within a specific area. The following listing represents some of the duties found in this kind of position in a research area. Other similar duties may be included, as appropriate to the area. 1. DATA COLLECTION ACTIVITIES: * Collects and codes data * Transfers collected data to code sheets * Prepares data for keypunching / computer input * Documents system changes, informing supervisor of conflicts between coding methods and protocol * Prepares written reports on data, as appropriate 2. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: * Performs basic research experiments * Assists with analysis of experimental data using basic statistical methods * Performs literature searches 3. LABORATORY ACTIVITIES: * Assists with maintenance of a clean and orderly lab 4.
