This role is located on-site in San Diego, CA and Yokosuka, Japan. This position serves as the C5I Test Coordinator and provides overarching coordination for planning and execution of the C5I Integrated Testing Process (C5ITP) during CNO Availabilities. Represents the CSO and works closely with the Ship's TRIAD, Project Team, and Ship's Force.
- Supports development and maintenance of Integrated Test Plans (ITPs) for C5I and Combat Systems modernization efforts.
- Coordinates scheduling of system-level and cross-system testing with Ship's Force, RMCs, SYSCOMs, and ISEAs.
- Assists in execution of test events, ensuring proper sequencing to minimize rework and integration risk.
- Tracks test progress, documents discrepancies, and reports variances to the government lead for resolution.
- Supports integration verification across communications, combat systems, navigation, EW, and IT networks.
- Prepares test status updates, risk documentation, and readiness inputs for delivery to government leadership.
- Assists with Combat Systems Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT), INSURV preparations, C5RA events, and other government-directed test activities.
- Identifies potential risk areas and develops mitigation options for government consideration.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- At least five (5) years systems engineering/combat systems integration experience OR a minimum of 10 years technical experience showing progressive advancement of roles/responsibilities.
- Must have experience with standard Combat Systems Engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and systems integration aboard U.S. Navy Ships.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Travel Required: ~40% travel required to support test demonstrations (in port and underway).
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related technical field. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of Navy C5I systems (e.g., CANES, ADNS, SATCOM, radar suites, SSDS, AEGIS interfaces, Link-16, GCCS-M).
- Experience with system integration and test coordination on CVNs or other major combatants.
- Familiarity with Navy maintenance and readiness processes (SHIPMAIN, TSRA, C5RA, INSURV).
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills for managing multi-agency test efforts.
- Ability to review installation planning documentation (SCDs, drawings, TSRA schedules) and prepare recommendations for government review.
