Departmental Overview

Compensation/Benefits

  • $13.21-$21.58/hr depending on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $1.50/hr.
  • Night differential $1.75/hr.
  • Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Ortho is a 32 bed orthopedic floor. We also take med/surg overflow and cardiac overflow. We are a center of excellence with certifications in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacements and Hip Fractures.


Job Summary

Job Summary

* Provides basic patient care.

* Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

* Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse.

* Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures.

* Facilitates processing of patients

* Provides clerical receptionist support

* Provides Coordinating Support

* Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department


Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.

Experience

  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure/Certification

  • Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
