Why This Role Matters: Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking talented Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for developing world class software to fully maximize the strong hardware architecture of in-house servers. We are looking for talented individuals who enjoy creating firmware for products, prototyping concepts, and investigating in new technologies. In this position, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust Software/Firmware products. What You'll Do: Technology Frontier Leadership Champion next-generation computing ecosystems by leading Nvidia certification and system qualification initiatives Spearhead Redfish standards development, defining industry compliance roadmaps Research and integrate emerging technologies, positioning our solutions at the technological forefront Software Engineering & Innovation Design and implement sophisticated software development processes with continuous integration/deployment Drive high-performance testing strategies, including innovative "testing-in-production" methodologies Develop scalable software solutions for complex object storage environments Strategic Collaboration Bridge technical and business domains by translating complex requirements into actionable engineering strategies Cultivate strategic partnerships with external technology partners Engage cross-functionally with product managers, customer technical teams, and operations groups Technical Excellence Manage comprehensive software resource strategies Lead software bug resolution and customer escalation processes Explore and certify emerging technological compliance frameworks What We're Looking For: Advanced technical expertise in enterprise computing infrastructures Proven track record of driving technological innovation Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders Passion for solving complex engineering challenges Deep understanding of system-level software, firmware, and hardware interactions What You'll Bring: Academic Foundation Master's in Computer Engineering or Computer Science Exceptional candidates with equivalent real-world expertise will be considered Demonstrated passion for technological innovation trumps traditional credential Technical Mastery Domain Technical Expertise Zones (12+ Years Experience): Embedded Systems Architectur Deep expertise in Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) ecosystems Comprehensive understanding of Redfish Standard implementation OpenBMC development and optimization Security & Protocol Expertise Candidates Should Demonstrate Profound Knowledge In: Communication Protocols IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) Redfish API Frameworks SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Low-Level Communication Interfaces: I2C, SPI Power Management Protocols: PMBUS Security Infrastructure Secured Boot Architectures Root of Trust (RoT) Implementation Strategies Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Integration Open Compute Project (OCP) Remote Attestation Specifications Strategic Competency Indicators Beyond Technical Skills, We Seek: Systems Thinking Capability Ability to Translate Complex Technical Concepts Innovative Problem-solving Mindset Passion for Technological Advancement Strategic Vision in Enterprise Product Management What Sets You Apart Not just about meeting technical requirements About reshaping technological boundaries Transforming complex systems into elegant solutions Driving innovation through deep technical understanding Salary Range $170,000 - $200,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
