GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB *THE POSITION* Below is a brief overview of the role, not a full job description. Under general supervision of a Division Manager or designated Supervisor, manages the contracted and/or in-house designs, and performs cost estimates, permitting and preparation of technical specifications, construction and contract administration for a variety of municipal projects, including but not limited to improvements relating to transportation, drainage, water/sewer/irrigation, and City facilities, as assigned. Maintains close liaison and interacts daily with design consultants, surveyors, engineers, city administration, contractors and inspectors. Prepares time schedules, budget reports, technical specifications and drawings for a variety of City facilities or projects. Researches and analyzes issues including, but not limited to, regulatory compliance, system operations, property ownership and utility/developer agreements. Respond to inquiries from public, resolves problems and represents the City at public meetings as required. Supervises and/or provides guidance to staff as assigned within the scope of a specific project.
