What You Will Do

If you are an entry-level Estimator looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Prime Controls has an exciting opportunity for you based in our Lewisville, Texas office! As a Junior Estimator, you will support the estimating team by reviewing project documents, assisting in cost estimation, and preparing material and labor take-offs. You will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and vendors to ensure accurate and competitive project bids.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

    Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and RFPs to help develop cost estimates.
  • Gather material and labor cost data to support senior estimators in bid preparation.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to organize quotes and maintain pricing databases.
  • Support the analysis of historical cost data to improve accuracy in future estimates.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
  • Participate in pre-submittal meetings and job walks to gain insight into project requirements.
  • Assist in tracking project costs and identifying discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and methodologies.

What You Will Bring

  • Basic understanding of Instrumentation and Control Systems
  • Basic understanding of Water / Wastewater or related applications
  • Familiarity with PLC controlled electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of estimating tools and PDF applications such as Bluebeam and Adobe (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team setting.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
