Position Summary Utilizing the nursing process and clinical nursing practice standards, the Cardiac Surgery Operating Room Clinical Operations Manager responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for the CVOR patients in accordance with the policies and procedure of the Surgical Services and the Nursing Departments. The Cardiac Surgery Operating Room Clinical Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Cardiac Surgery and is responsible for maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, nurses and physicians, outside services and other staff members to ensure workflow effectiveness. S/he creates an image of quality service and demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to personnel resource management, supply and equipment inventory management, clinical information systems management, and professional staff development. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all Cardiac Surgery regulatory requirements and guidelines are continuously adhered to and independently makes changes to operations as required to meet standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job * Utilizes the nursing process and AORN standards as a framework for the management of patient care. * Analyzes the assessment data to determine a nursing diagnosis and appropriate interventions. * Demonstrates leadership in the coordination of patient care across the healthcare continuum with progress towards meeting desired patient outcomes. * Delegates to licensed and unlicensed personnel. * Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective critical thinking skills. * Prioritizes essential functions. * Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation. *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
