Position Summary This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with the core values. The employee shall support Saddleback Memorial Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. Under the directions of the Director of Cardiac Surgery and the Medical Director of Cardiac Surgical Services, the nurse practitioner functions as a member of the multidisciplinary cardiovascular services team using standardize protocols to independently provide examination, evaluation, and recommendation for treatment of patients. Responsibilities include daily rounding and care of patients through performance of clinical duties including but not limited to, consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests, prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, development of treatment plans to facilitate the continuum of care from admissions to discharge. The nurse practitioner must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care of the patients. The nurse practitioner collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. In addition, the nurse practitioner, using evidenced based guidelines, assists with the development of clinical programs that enhance the delivery of services.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job O Ability to utilize the nursing process in the care delivery. O Ability to demonstrate integrated knowledge of job specific competencies. *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
