Make an Impact as an Operations Engineer II
Ready to roll up your sleeves and help drive real results? As an Operations Engineer II, you'll be at the heart of production-designing smarter processes, solving daily shop floor challenges, and driving continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role where your engineering skills meet real-world impact. From updating procedures and optimizing layouts to supporting safety and efficiency upgrades, you'll be a key player in shaping how we operate. Your role as the Operations Engineer II:
- Execute various engineering tasks, including conducting process layouts and developing or refining operating procedures that enhance safety and productivity.
- Proactively address and resolve daily production issues directly on the shop floor, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
- Research and develop systems dedicated to continuous improvement, focusing on innovative practices that drive operational excellence.
- Prepare, review, and regularly update operator procedures to align with best practices and foster understanding among staff.
- Diagnose equipment failures and operational difficulties and collaborate with the maintenance team to suggest effective solutions.
- Serve as a liaison with external customers regarding shop floor activities, fostering positive relationships while addressing their needs.
- Develop and maintain process layouts for existing and new processes, streamlining operations and maximizing efficiency.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Strong ability to interpret a variety of documents including safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedure manuals, alongside the capacity to generate clear and concise written communications.
- Proficient in basic math operations, including the ability to perform calculations necessary for data analysis such as rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, applying sound judgment and common sense in executing instructions provided in diverse formats.
- Familiarity with software tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD, coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude to support engineering tasks.
- Capacity to prepare comprehensive technical reports and procedural documents in a clear and well-organized manner.
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings accurately, allowing for effective application in designing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience, particularly in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a must, along with the willingness to travel as required.
- Possibility of requiring Government Secret Clearance will need to be acknowledged.
- A positive attitude and collaborative spirit are essential to integrate effectively with our team.
- Must be able to successfully undergo a physical assessment, drug screening, and a background investigation.
In compliance with state pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $75,280 - $112,920. The final offer may vary based on several factors, including experience and geographical location. (The specific programs and options available may differ depending on date of hire, schedule, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.)
