Senior Accountant | Non-profit | FT Flexible Hours

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant.Join a diverse team of passionate and caring professionals. The organization isdedicated to creating an environment that empowers women and fosters peace. Join them as they work to advance these values through the diverse programs in Southern MA.

In this role, youwill assist with audit documentation, including preparing supporting materials for year-end audit. Your responsibilities include analyzing and documenting journal entries, reconciling all balance sheet accounts using Blackbaud and Excel, ideally some grant accounting experience, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies. You'll work independently, collaborate with others when needed, and review journal entries to ensure accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Conduct account analysis and reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts across all entities.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee General Ledger activities, including reconciliations, adjustments, and resolving errors.
  • Record journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset ledgers.
  • Prepare and review accruals and necessary adjustments.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate and assist with the external audit process, providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate on year-end financial activities, including preparing financial statements and schedules, and working with external auditors to address their requests.
  • Assist with fiscal year-end activities and closing processes, and support various audit requests.
