Job Title: Senior Financial Auditor
Location: Iselin, NJ (On-site, 5 days a week)
Duration: 2-3 Months (with possibility of extension)
Pay Rate: $90-110/hour (depending on skills and experience)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Auditor to join our team for a 2-3 month contract (with the possibility of extension) based in Iselin, NJ. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing issues related to revenue recognition, payroll expenses, client billing, employee expense reimbursements, and project-related financial processes. This is an on-site role, requiring a hands-on approach to auditing and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Recognition & Billing: Identify and resolve issues preventing proper and timely revenue recognition, ensuring accurate payroll expenses and appropriate billing to clients. This includes auditing processes such as timesheets, unit billing conversions, A/P payments for subconsultants, and other direct project expenses.
  • Employee Expense Reimbursement: Review and identify issues in the employee expense reimbursement process to ensure expenses are appropriate, adhere to policies and procedures, are approved by the proper persons, and are applied to the correct projects in a timely manner.
  • Documentation & Auditing: Document and audit identified processes to ensure compliance and accuracy, making recommendations for process improvements when necessary.
  • Timesheet & Payroll Audits: Evaluate timesheet processes to ensure both accurate payroll and proper capture of data for billing purposes.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Significant experience in auditing, particularly in revenue recognition, billing, and payroll processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Deltek VantagePoint (required), with a strong understanding of its use in revenue recognition, project management, and billing.
  • Accounting & Auditing Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required), CPA certification (preferred), and significant auditing experience.
  • Big Four Experience: Experience with a Big Four accounting firm is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to document and present audit findings clearly
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within deadlines

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
