Target hiring range for this position will be between be $87,899 to $112,620.50 per year . Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Law School's Office of Executive and Professional Education is seeking a collaborative and motivated individual to lead its continuing legal education programs. The Director of Professional & Continuing Legal Education will work in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Executive Education in planning three annual Institutes. Responsibilities include the successful execution and enhancement of the Institutes and other currently existing continuing legal education programs as well as collaborating with the Assistant Dean in exploring new opportunities for growth of the portfolio to expand the reputation and generate revenue for the Law School. The Director will draw on their project management skills, knowledge of the legal market and industry trends, and strong relationship management skills in generating revenue, strengthening the Northwestern Law brand, and growing attendance at programs. The Director is also charged with leading a team to help execute programs.

Specific Responsibilities:
Program Management and Marketing
- Design and implement a strategic plan to generate outreach and revenue for non-degree continuing legal education programs.
- Steward and enhance programming of existing Institutes to continue to attract national legal audience and prominent speakers.
- Collaborate with committees to build program content and design, through current or learned understanding of the legal market, including legal trends and industry leaders. Provide guidance, direction and creation of programming appropriate to sophisticated legal audiences.
- Direct marketing and communication plan for open enrollment programs to generate attendance and meet revenue targets.
- Cultivate and leverage relationships with highly successful practitioners, judges, academics, and government officials, who act in an advisory capacity in development of programs and as faculty in presenting programs.
- Oversee overall execution of Institutes and other non-degree continuing legal education programs and assist team with day-of logistics (as needed).
Financial Management
- Manage profit/loss responsibilities for all Institutes annually.
- Generate targeted sponsorship revenue in support of programming.
Executive Education
- Work with Assistant Dean, Executive Education to manage special projects as directed that support department and the overall Law School strategy.
Management
- Manage, motivate, and develop team members to drive results.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- At least 8 years of solid experience in executive education, business development, external relations, marketing, or related field;
- Strong marketing skills with ability to creatively use limited resources for maximum reach;
- 5+ years' experience leading and managing a highly effective team;
- Understanding of the current legal market and/or willingness to learn;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Proven interpersonal and diplomacy skills;
- Highly motivated professional
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong program management skills.
- Ability to professionally present oneself, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to travel and attend programs and events in the evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Master's or JD, preferred.
- Proven ability to develop working relationships across functional lines.
- Successful track record in revenue generation and in leading process improvement.
- Proven ability to build and leverage relationships within the business and legal community.
