Our Client Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) practice is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing team in the Garden City, New York.

About the role:

As a member of CLA's CAAS practice, you will provide accounting services to CLA's clients in the local city area and will be a key part of our client service teams. You will work directly with clients to provide customized accounting and finance services to support them as they grow their business. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to grow your career as you contribute to the success of clients' businesses or organizations. This is a full-time, long-term career opportunity serving multiple CLA clients on a permanent, part-time basis

As an Assistant Controller, you will:

• Perform Assistant Controller functions as part of the client's accounting services team and manage these functions for your clients.
• Act as a consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of the client's organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.

What you will need:

• 4 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range.

For NYC, the posted range for this role is $101,900.00$155,000.00
