Job Duties: Associate, Financial Accounting with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Dallas, Texas. Independently conduct accounting and financial reporting within the Asset Management division's Fund Accounting team for a wide range of commercial, multi-family, retail, industrial, and student housing investment entities. Perform entity level accounting, including asset level data uploads, review of asset level activity, and financial statements, journal entry preparation and input, independently perform quarterly close procedures and financial statement preparation utilizing Investran and related Investment Accounting systems. Review monthly activity for assets and prepare financial reports and statements for investors, lenders, and other users of the financials. Review and analyze legal entity and loan agreements to handle technical accounting issues, including promote calculations, and credit facility payments. Work with the team to provide client documents to auditors for annual audit requests. Initiate payments for various legal entities. Work with deal teams to gather legal documents, review and record journal entries associated with new acquisitions, reconcile purchase price allocation, and help ensure "books and records" sections of legal agreements are in compliance. Independently perform accounting consolidations of portfolios with various legal entities. Prepare period-end close transactions including mark-to-market valuation and foreign currency adjustments, accruals and other transactions. Complete ad hoc requests for entity financial data with extensive use of Excel. Complete asset acquisition and disposition processes as needed. Review journal entries associated with quarterly close prepared by analysts. Review the quarterly close and financial statements prepared by analyst-level employees. Review coding for payables processed through payment workflow. Provide ad hoc training and support on accounting treatment to analysts and new hires.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: performing granular accounting including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling mapping errors, closing procedures, and financial statement preparation; deriving ad hoc reporting required by end-users varying from traditional financial reporting, based on gathered financial data; coordinating communication among separate groups to bring together tax, financial reporting, operations, treasury, and deal team members; coordinating with auditors to deliver client documents related to audit including supporting documentation and researching and answering questions related to the platform; and performing closing procedures and preparing financial statement reporting. Must have one (1) year of experience with: researching and applying GAAP related to financial reporting for investments, including to areas related to revenue recognition, fixed assets, consolidation accounting, loan, and interest accounting, as well as other relevant areas of accounting, including accrual, expense, income and expense matching, and construction accounting; and deriving reporting requirements and accounting expectations in deal documents, including entity agreements and loan documents, to support financial reporting requirements to investors, lenders, and regulators; and navigating multiple general ledger and financial reporting platforms, including, JDEdwards, Hubble, and Yardi including experience importing information from outside systems, as well as preparing output to end-user systems.
