The CNA Float Pool Scheduler is responsible for assigning Float Pool/Per Diem Pool nursing staff to the various nursing units within the hospital with clinical assistance from the Nurse Manager and RN House Coordinator. The Float Pool Scheduler is responsible for data entry, staffing/scheduling program, patient electronic medical record and release of deceased. The Float Pool Scheduler is also a Certified Nursing Assistant and will assist on the nursing units as directed by the RN House Coordinator.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain schedules in staffing/scheduling program
  • Report generation from staffing/scheduling program
  • Prepares staffing information for shift and assigns staff where indicted with review by Manager or RN House Coordinator.
  • Deploys fiscally responsible staffing
  • Informs nursing units of staff being assigned to them
  • Completes shift report sheets and daily scheduling sheets.
  • Facilitates placement of orients to correct units/area of need
  • Assist with education of staff
  • Basic computer skills for data entry
  • Proficiency with electronic patient documentation
  • Professional phone Etiquette
  • Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
  • Transports patients within the facility as directed
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum of one year experience CNA

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Certified Nursing Assistant

Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the IL Health Care Workers Background Check.
