Rupture Disc Operator Trainee Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for an Rupture Disc Operator Trainee, second shift. Job Summary: Assists operators in setting up and operating metal forming equipment in the manufacture of various sizes of rupture discs from order specifications. Performs routine and manual tasks which includes cleaning machines, punching out parts and expediting delivery of raw materials and machine parts. Emphasis is on learning techniques and machine shop skills. Primary Responsibilities:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential Skills: Subject Matter Understanding. Analytical. Computer Applications. Inspecting/Examining. Mechanical. Machining. Housekeeping. Job Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED). Ability to read instructions, work orders and engineered drawings. Preferred: Exposure to machining operations.
