Job Summary
The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst is responsible for: the analysis, entry, and upload processes of employment data into Banner; ensuring accuracy of data and reconciliation of information; and responding to inquiries from employees and departmental personnel. This position serves as a primary point-of-contact and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst handles problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices at the direction of the HRIS Manager.
Essential Functions
- Review, validate and process all documents (electronic and paper) that initiate and support any action impacting hires and/or employment actions in a timely and accurate matter. Audit and reconcile error reports from transaction entries when applicable.
- Work closely with HR areas, Payroll and university departments to ensure accuracy and timely payroll processing.
- Monitor the departmental inbox and respond to inquiries regarding HRIS data.
- Create positions numbers for per diem, temporary and student employees.
- Upload personnel documents into OnBase, document management system.
- Work with users to troubleshoot Electronic Personnel Action Forms and Labor Redistributions.
- Educate internal/external clients on best practices and system updates.
- Coordinate with IT to resolve HR system matters/concerns.
- Process HR system access requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Minimum of 3 years HRIS system experience or relevant experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks concurrently to meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of HR processes and data management
- Strong knowledge of HRIS/HCM, and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of staff including administration, faculty, professional staff and students
- Sound judgment and ability to deal effectively with matters of a highly visible and confidential nature
- High degree of professionalism, initiative, integrity, urgency and motivation
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive, effective working relationships with other
- Ability to organize heavy workload with ability to pivot between priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Higher Education strongly preferred.
- Experience using Banner HR software strongly preferred.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $47,490.00 to $71,230.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
