Role Summary

The Project Manager, Construction (Workplace) works closely with the broader Facilities team and multiple cross-functional partners, leading Facilities construction projects to ensure all financial, administrative, contractual, and technical aspects of multiple projects are being executed as required. Product types associated with this role may include, but are not limited to, office space and associated conference rooms, team rooms, cafes, restrooms, public and employee entrances, logistics facilities, amenity spaces, as well as complex research lab and development and other production-adjacent spaces.


Responsibilities

  • Develop space assessments and plans that address our current and future space needs, considering factors such as multi-building campus, varying departmental needs, and evolving growth plans
  • Hybrid Workspace Design - Develop and implement workspace layouts that support hybrid work models, incorporating flexible seating arrangements, hot desking, and collaborative spaces
  • Scenario Modeling for RTO Strategies - Develop and test multiple space utilization scenarios to accommodate varying levels of in-office attendance, ensuring flexibility and scalability in the design approach
  • Visualization by CAD software and other visualization tools to create detailed floor plans, 3D models, and renderings that illustrate proposed space layouts and configurations. (CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe,). Rendering is not a main focus but will be required on as as-needed basis to support our internal Design team**
  • Assist in budgeting and cost analysis related to space planning initiatives, including furniture procurement, renovations, and relocations for design strategies to be implemented
  • Manage space planning projects from inception to completion ((partner closely with Facilities Design team and in-house architect). Emphasis on managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate change management related to space reconfigurations, manage communication with stakeholders and address their concerns holistically, compassionately and pragmatically.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, accessibility standards, and environmental guidelines in all space planning activities.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in space planning and workplace design, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years Experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or related field. degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in facility space planning, preferably in a corporate, start up or commercial environment.
  • Highly skilled in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other space planning tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical space solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong visualization skills
  • Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver results within established timelines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, building codes, and industry standards related to facility space planning and design.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California based applicants: $98,000 - $123,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
