Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume/cv)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Physics or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment. Demonstrated experience in nuclear and particle physics, broadly defined.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with numerical simulations, quantum computing, machine learning tools (such as generative modeling), collider phenomenology, quantum chromodynamics (QCD), and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model.

Brief Description of Duties:
The primary objective of this position is to conduct research in collaboration with Dr. Ringer, the Principal Investigator (PI) for the department of Physics and Astronomy, and his research group on a range of topics in fundamental physics.

Key focus areas include:

* Utilizing quantum computing for lattice field theories.

* Developing machine learning tools for applications in nuclear and particle physics.

* Applying Effective Field Theory methods to collider phenomenology.

Additional duties include:

* Supervising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students on research projects,

* Presenting research findings at workshops and scientific conferences.

* Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
