JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

This individual willassistthe State Master Watershed Steward Coordinator and the Master Watershed StewardCoordinators of the Philadelphia, Chester/Delaware, and Bucks/Montgomery Programs.This position is administratively responsible to the State Master Watershed Steward Coordinator.

The individual selected for this position will assist the State and Southeast Master Watershed Steward programs in these tasks:

  • Recruitand selecta diverse group of trainees to become new program volunteers
  • Facilitate and support volunteer training classes
  • Update and managethe county program's volunteer reporting system,HandsOnConnect, and other communication methods
  • Administer surveys for program evaluation
  • Manage volunteer recognition throughcollatingvolunteer hoursandorderingcertificates and name badges
  • Maintain and updatethe County Master Watershed Steward webpagesand social media
  • Support newsletter creation and other communication means
  • Prepare and submit financial documentation forpurchases and deposits
  • Coordinate, update,and scheduleMaster Watershed Steward Speakers' Bureautalks
  • Attendmeetings and supportproject committeeswhen appropriate
  • Develop a working relationship with the volunteers and respond to their calls and emails
  • Collect and organize data forprogram impact reports
  • Help plan recognition events and identify and manage MWS projects
  • Engage community members as appropriate to promotePenn StateExtensionand theMaster Watershed Steward Program
  • Distribute physical materials to Stewards as needed within the region

Candidates must have strong computer skills to be considered for the role, including demonstrated competencies in usingsoftwaresuch asMicrosoftOffice, Zoom,and multipleweb browsers, as well as the ability to learn other applicableprogramsincludingHandsOnConnect,Plone,Qualtrics, Office 365 Suite applications, and Canva.

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

This position ispart-timefor an average of 10 - 20 hoursper week.Work schedule is flexible.

Occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
