Building Performance Standards Analyst: This is where you come in.

We are seeking a Building Performance Standards Analyst to support MacDonald-Miller's Building Services department, with a key focus on our Clean Buildings Compliance Programs. This role will primarily address Oregon's building performance regulations while also providing support for internal operations in southwest Washington.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to serving both internal and external stakeholders and a broad knowledge base to create compliance deliverables, enhance operational efficiencies, and solve problems both independently and across departments. A solid understanding of Energy Use Intensity (EUI) calculations and proficiency with the EPA's Energy Star Portfolio Manager platform is essential.

The Building Performance Standards Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing certified benchmarks, creating the Energy Management Plan (EMP), and overseeing the Operations and Maintenance Program (O&M), as defined in Sections 5 and 6 of ASHRAE Standard 100-2018, WAC 194-50, and Oregon House Bill 3409.

Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to fully understand business needs, develop deliverables, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support the transition of the Building Performance Standards program from Washington to Oregon.
  • Perform building performance assessments and assist with scopes of work to ensure customer compliance.
  • Facilitate training activities related to Building Performance Standards in both Oregon and Washington.
  • Calculate energy savings, conduct energy audits, and identify opportunities for further energy efficiencies while training new staff.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including CRM management and proactive upkeep of Building Performance deliverables, such as sales collateral, contracts, and other customer-facing documentation.

The Building Performance Standards Analyst will report to Natalie Crump, Sales Operations Manager, and is an integral part of the collaborative team working on projects to support the operational execution and expansion of business throughout Oregon and southwest Washington. This role involves frequent interaction with internal operations teams, customers, and industry stakeholders.

  • Maintain Professional Licensures: Hold and maintain any of the following professional certifications or licensures as required to fulfill Qualified Persons duties per state guidelines: Professional Architect or Engineer (Oregon and Washington), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level II, or Energy Management Professional (EMP).
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Successfully support the implementation and deployment of strategic initiatives in Oregon related to Building Performance Standards.
  • Support Customer Sustainability Goals: Assist customers in aligning and achieving their sustainability objectives in accordance with Oregon and Washington Building Performance Standards.
  • Educate and Inform: Stay well-informed and serve as an educational resource for partners on Oregon and Washington Building Performance initiatives, standards, and policies.
  • Ensure Compliance and Accountability: Serve as the primary point of accountability for:
    • Completing certified benchmarks.
    • Conducting customer consultations.
    • Validating compliance activities.
    • Submitting compliance documentation to the Oregon Department of Energy.

Compensation: $88,000 - $108,000 annually
